KCCK's Jazz Under The Stars - Group X Reunion

Join KCCK, Iowa’s Jazz Station for free, family-friendly jazz concert in Cedar Rapids’ Noelridge Park in August. Each concert features both a headliner and a young artist ensemble. Food trucks and kids activities on-site. Admission is free.

In the early 2000s, a quintet UNI undergrads made and released an album of their original compositions. Today Jennifer Tiede (Jen Nebraska the time) directs the Linn Mar Colton Center Jazz Ensemble, Dave Tiede is a first-cal drummer for many of the top regional jazz bands, Joel Nagel directs the band program at Cedar Rapids Washington, and Mike Conrad is an award-winning composer, founder of the Iowa Jazz Composers Orchestra (of which Jen, Dave, and Joel are all members), and teaches at their alma mater.

For the first time in nearly two decades, these top-flight performers and educators will revisit their early collaborations.
